History
In the past twelve years the show has seen over a thousand youth exhibitors; showing several thousand animals over the years, entered youth from surrounding states, including Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia, Massachusetts, and New York. This event is a two day event, including breed shows for pigs, goats, sheep and cattle. The Delaware Livestock Exposition has been host to sanctioned shows and regional shows in the past. Families enjoy visiting with friends during the exhibitor dinner social, and youth and adults alike enjoy the friendly social sports tournaments that have been organized over the past shows.
As a result, over the last 15 years, the Delaware Livestock Exposition has paid over $250,000 directly to youth exhibitors as cash awards or premiums, for their livestock placings. Majority of the funding for this event comes in the form of donations from individuals and businesses to our annual benefit dinner and auction, held in March each year. This show also recognizes the four champion showmen with belt buckles and provides special monetary awards to the supreme male and female of each species. In this difficult economy, the planning committee has been forced to work as hard as ever to solicit donations in order to support the show. Any support you can provide would go a long way in allowing this show to continue.
The Delaware Livestock Exposition is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization (Federal ID Number 20-2034621). Pursuant to Internal Revenue Code requirements for substantiation of charitable contributions, the Delaware Livestock Exposition provided no goods or services in return for these contributions.
